MaxJet was founded in 2003 as SkyLink Airways and as transatlantic low-cost carrier. The name had to be changed in 2005, as SkyLink Aviation from Canada formally objected to the old one. The concept was changed as well, from low-cost into all-business class, as the management believed a transatlantic low-fare airline could not be profitable.
The first flight service was operated from New York to London on November 1, 2005. The destination list also includes Washington, D. C. and Las Vegas.
The airline owns five Boeing 767-200ERs with a configuration of 102 seats with 60-inch pitch and an average age of 18.2 years in 2007. Amenities like on-demand entertainment systems, multi-course meals, metal cutlery and china and a big selection of wines, champagne and liquor are included on every flight.
According to MaxJet, the average load factor was 60 % in July 2006. Customers of the airline are mainly corporations, government entities and professional sports teams. MaxJet plans to continue expanding by acquiring new aircraft and adding new destinations in the US, but also in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
